Maikaze Daiko is a San Francisco-based performance ensemble and taiko school. Our name, "Dancing Wind", reflects our focus on innovative arrangements, precision taiko playing and creative use of movement and space. Maikaze Daiko performs work that expresses a fresh perspective on the rich world of taiko drumming today. 2012 WORLD PERCUSSION ARTS FESTIVAL
On March 16-18th, Maikaze Daiko will host the 2012 San Francisco World Percussion Arts Festival to celebrate the diverse global traditions of percussive arts.Workshops and performances will be presented by highly respected artists who are recognized for their skill and mastery. The festival promotes the importance of cultural heritage and provides opportunities for everyone - individuals and communities - to celebrate , share and sustain world percussive art forms.
